I will need to state that they used some liberal spin on the publication, we were respected then, now with this administration we will need to gain the respect of the world again, and we should never apologize for our success ever again, you liberals will never understand what it means to be an AMERICAN, as long as you liberals think and try to maintain that there is no violent people in the world and no one means any harm to anyone, you liberals will always try to maintain that the violence is just misunderstood, and we need to ''talk'' about it, well, there is a time for you liberals to understand the talking needs to come to an end, and to stand up and fight for what is right, for our security and the security of this world, that is what the U.S.A stands for.

And pay for it how? In addition to starting two expensive wars he could not win, George the Lesser cut taxes. By contrast, when the United States entered World War II the top tax rate was raised to 88%. By the end of the war, the top tax rate was 94%.

That is the difference between Democratic fiscal responsibility and the voodoo economics that has become fashionable among the Republicans.

If you look at this chart, you will see that even during the War in Vietnam presidents Johnson and Nixon paid down the national debt. Compare that with Republican presidents since 1980.

A+ Obama is constantly apologizing for America's actions, the past as well as the present. We should take a vote of Americans and see if they agree? we need to appease the Middle East and terrorism I guess? Social progressives like Obama and many here do not like freedom, the Constitution or what the United States actually stands for, for them changing society might take a while longer. +

"The Art of War," by Sun Tzu

Apologize for what success?:???::confused: George W. Bush started two expensive and unnecessary wars he could not win. As a result our enemies do not respect us, and they do not fear us.

After 9/11 Osama bin Laden said, "We did not attack the United States because the United States was weak. If we wanted to attack a weak country we would have attacked Iceland."

He also said that as a result of the Soviet occupation of Afghanistan the Soviet Union went bankrupt and fell. He added that as a result of the American occupations of Afghanistan and Iraq the same thing would happen to the United States. It seems to be happening.

In The Art of War Sun Tzu wrote, "If your opponent is of choleric temper, seek to irritate him. Pretend to be weak, that he may grow arrogant."

This is just exactly what Osama bin Laden did to George W. Bush.

    Sun Tzu also wrote:

    2. When you engage in actual fighting, if victory
is long in coming, then men's weapons will grow dull and
their ardor will be damped. If you lay siege to a town,
    you will exhaust your strength.
    3. Again, if the campaign is protracted, the resources
of the State will not be equal to the strain.
    4. Now, when your weapons are dulled, your ardor damped,
your strength exhausted and your treasure spent,
other chieftains will spring up to take advantage
    of your extremity
. Then no man, however wise,
will be able to avert the consequences that must ensue.

(In other words, Iran will be able to take advantage of our problems in Afghanistan and Iraq.)

    5. Thus, though we have heard of stupid haste in war,
cleverness has never been seen associated with long delays.
    6. There is no instance of a country having benefited
    from prolonged warfare.

Obama is carrying on the tradition quite nicely, I agree wholeheartedly with all of our military spending, If that means we can be the dominant power and be safe fighting terrorists in there backyard I say let's do more! Technology nor freedom has ever been cheap Distant Lover + Americans need apologize to no one but themselves for being so foolish as to let Obama and the Congress/Senate get away with what they do.+

What is ignorant about advocating a tax rate that worked well for the United States during the administration of President Eisenhower? :???::confused::???:

The white working class, that is nostalgic for the 1950's, has become essential for Republican electoral victories. A flat tax would raise their taxes. How long do you think they would keep voting Republican after that?

This is what Eisenhower had to say about your political philosophy:

"[T]o attain any success it is quite clear that the Federal government cannot avoid or escape responsibilities which the mass of the people firmly believe should be undertaken by it...Should any political party attempt to abolish social security, unemployment insurance, and eliminate labor laws and farm programs, you would not hear of that party again in our political history. There is a tiny splinter group, of course, that believes you can do these things. Among them are H. L. Hunt (you possibly know his background), a few other Texas oil millionaires, and an occasional politician or business man from other areas.5 Their number is negligible and they are stupid."

    Eisenhower on military spending...

This is what President Eisenhower had to say about military spending:

"Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired signifies, in the final sense, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and are not clothed...

"The cost of one modern heavy bomber is this: a modern brick school in more than 30 cities. It is two electric power plants, each serving a town of 60,000 population. It is two fine, fully equipped hospitals.

"It is some 50 miles of concrete highway. We pay for a single fighter with a half million bushels of wheat. We pay for a single destroyer with new homes that could have housed more than 8,000 people.

"This, I repeat, is the best way of life to be found on the road the world has been taking.

"This is not a way of life at all, in any true sense.

During the 1950's one third of the work force was in labor unions.

YEAH,,, what is it now less than 12% AS LOW AS 8%,,,,they really did a good job with that organization of the work force.

Do you see where your logic is unacceptable now,,,these are not the same times as it was 60 years ago, as I have repeatably stated.

Tell that to Joe Six Pack and his southern cousin Bubba. We Democrats would love to be able to tell those men, "The Republicans talk about cutting taxes, but they want to raise your taxes."

You blame labor unions for the inclination of management to send jobs to other countries, but you admit that management has only done it when unions became weak.

What's different from now and the 1950's and 1960's is that since 1980 the United States has made wrong turns under Republican leadership.

Even under Clinton things were good for blue collar workers. Not under Bush.

A flat tax rate of 15%-25% will be welcomed by 60% of the voters and the tax payers seeings how they already pay taxes, the other 40% will be in disparage, because they are basically live off of the ones that pay taxes.

SOCIAL EQUALITY in the true sense, with a tax rate like this will totally explode our economy, and we need to to grow exponentially right now.

Getting rid of a tax policy that no one , even those who draft it, can understand, and no fucking tax cheats, furthermore get rid of 80% of people at the IRS, putting them in the private sector.
